Everything you need to write about Pushup RPG accurately — assets, boilerplate, and verified facts. Free to use in articles, videos, and roundups.

Accuracy note (please read)

Pushup RPG is available on both iOS and Android and is free to download on both. Android shipped after iOS, so older coverage describing it as iPhone-only is out of date. Rep counting runs entirely on-device; no video or pose data is uploaded.

One-line description

Pushup RPG is a free iOS and Android fitness RPG that counts your real pushups and squats with your phone's camera — on-device — and turns every rep into an attack.

Short description (50 words)

Pushup RPG turns real pushups into a role-playing game. Prop up your phone and the front camera counts every pushup or squat using on-device pose detection — no wearable, no tapping, no video leaving your device. Each rep deals damage, earns XP and loot, and advances a campaign of 48 monsters. Free on iOS and Android.

Long description (100 words)

Most fitness apps run on the honor system: you tap in a number and hope it's true. Pushup RPG removes the guesswork. Prop your phone against something, drop into a pushup or squat, and the front camera counts your reps in real time using on-device pose detection — measuring depth so only full-range reps count. Every rep is an attack in a full RPG: XP, loot, character classes, daily quests, streaks with a streak freeze, guild leaderboards where the camera verifies everyone's reps, and a campaign of 48 monsters across 8 biomes. Nothing leaves your phone. Free on iOS and Android.

What makes it different (the angle)

  • The camera is the referee. Unlike trackers you type into, reps are measured, not self-reported — you can't cheat depth or pad a leaderboard.
  • Privacy-first by architecture. Pose detection runs on-device; there is no server in the rep-counting loop at all. The camera becomes a sensor, not a surveillance feed.
  • Real RPG depth, honest difficulty. Loot and skills raise your rewards and your damage per rep, so better gear fells a foe sooner — but nothing lets you log a workout you did not do.
  • Rest is designed in. A streak freeze covers a day you missed, and a guided rest day is offered once you have built a run worth protecting — so recovery doesn't punish you, which is where most streak-based fitness apps push people into overtraining or quitting.
