Accuracy note (please read)
Pushup RPG is available on both iOS and Android and is free to download on both. Android shipped after iOS, so older coverage describing it as iPhone-only is out of date. Rep counting runs entirely on-device; the feed is held in memory while a set is active and is not uploaded.
One-line description
Pushup RPG is a free iOS and Android fitness RPG. Your phone's camera counts six movements on-device: pushups, squats, sit-ups, pull-ups and dips by reps, and the plank by time. Pushups and squats turn every rep into an attack.
Short description (50 words)
Pushup RPG turns real pushups into a role-playing game. Prop up your phone and the front camera counts your pushups and squats using on-device pose detection — no wearable, no tapping, no camera video uploaded for rep counting. Each rep deals damage, earns XP and loot, and advances a campaign of 48 monsters. Free on iOS and Android.
Long description (100 words)
Most fitness apps run on the honor system: you tap in a number and hope it's true. Pushup RPG removes the guesswork. Prop your phone up, drop into a pushup or squat, and the front camera counts your reps in real time with on-device pose detection — measuring depth so only full reps count. Every rep is an attack in a full RPG: XP, loot, classes, daily quests, streaks with a freeze, guild leaderboards capped at 300 reps a day, and a campaign of 48 monsters across 8 biomes. Camera video and pose landmarks are not uploaded for rep counting. Free on iOS and Android.

| Age rating | 9+ |
| Category | Health & Fitness / gamified training |
| Rep counting | On-device pose detection via the front camera; counts full-range reps only |
| Privacy | Camera video and pose landmarks are not uploaded for rep counting |
| Movements | Six, all camera-read on-device and all free: pushups and squats drive the campaign and leaderboards, and live duels are push-ups only; sit-ups (reps), the plank (timed in seconds), pull-ups (reps) and dips (reps) are solo training modes, the first two added in 2.4.1 and the last two in 2.5.1 — they keep your daily streak alive but earn no XP, gold or loot for the work itself and appear on no leaderboard. |
| Combat movements | Pushups and squats, both camera-counted (squats added in v2.0, with a separate leaderboard). The other four are solo training, listed above. |
| Pushup variations | Full and knee pushups (knee is a selectable mode). Hand and foot placement does not affect counting, so standard, diamond, wide and decline all register. Wall and high-incline reps are too upright to read as a plank. |
| Game content | 48 foes across 8 biomes, character classes, skill tree, loot, daily quests, streaks, Guilds |
| Live play | Real-time duels — challenge a friend, or enter the Arena to be matched with a player near your level. 40-second bouts, both cameras counting, no chat. Report and block from the result card. |
| Leaderboards | Worldwide, per-country and friends-only, for pushups and squats separately. Players can pick a flag to fly beside their name. |

Store figures are read from the live App Store and Google Play listings by a weekly job, last on 16 September 2026. The App Store count is every storefront added up, not the US one alone. They move daily, so re-check before publishing either figure.
What makes it different (the angle)
- The camera is the referee. Reps are counted by the camera, not typed in, and depth is measured rather than trusted. Daily scores are capped at 300, so the top of the board is a wall of honest maximums, and the Endless Descent ranks only runs the camera watched end to end.
- Privacy-first by architecture. Pose detection runs on-device; there is no server in the rep-counting loop at all. The camera becomes a sensor, not a surveillance feed.
- Real RPG depth, honest difficulty. Loot and skills raise your rewards and your damage per rep, so better gear fells a foe sooner — but in the campaign no upgrade changes a foe's rep quota.
- Rest is designed in. A streak freeze covers a day you missed, and a guided rest day is offered once you have built a run worth protecting — so recovery doesn't punish you, which is where most streak-based fitness apps push people into overtraining or quitting.
